BarefootDoctorWorld was relaunched in December 2004 following several months of redesign by the corticaldesign crew. It was the first (and largest) site to be powered using the cortical node1 CMS - the CMS was originally developed for them, and then successively evolved into a tool for managing other websites.

BarefootDoctorWorld was built to support the work of Stephen Russell (aka Barefoot Doctor), famous for writing several popular books (Handbook for the Urban Warrior, Dear Barefoot, Manifesto, etc) as well as appearing on TV in Britain doing a 13 part series entitled 'Barefoot'. The Doc takes inspiration from Chinese Taoism amongst other sources, and applies them to help people improve their lives. The site is there to make Barefoot Doctor's teaching material more accessible to the public and to develop a virtual community of people interested in the Doc's teaching as well share other likeminded interests.

The relaunch of BarefootDoctorWorld was the culmination of many hundreds of hours of work, and is continually being expanded today. Corticaldesign is working with BarefootDoctorWorld on a daily basis and many further developments are being made.
